Welcome to the Introduction to Terrain course by Ana María Oliva.
In this course, you will learn why we say that "the terrain is everything."
Many times, people talk about the “terrain” as something fundamental, but it’s not always clear what it really means.
The goal of this minicourse is to provide a broader and deeper perspective on life and health, breaking away from the traditional paradigm that blames germs for diseases and instead proposing that what truly matters is the state of the terrain—that is, the context and conditions in which life develops.
Ana María Oliva, an engineer and PhD in biomedical engineering, specializes in the interaction between medicine and technology, as well as in the study of human energy fields and their influence on health. She offers a less materialistic and more holistic view of physiology, incorporating electromagnetic and bioenergetic aspects.
This minicourse introduces this new paradigm, distinguishing between “theory” and “paradigm,” and emphasizing that the terrain approach considers the human being as an integrated system, not just the sum of physical or biochemical parts. The terrain includes physical, biochemical, electromagnetic, energetic, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions. Health depends on how all these parts are cared for and balanced.
Finally, the course will cover topics such as:
-
the founders of the terrain concept,
-
the fundamental unit of life (which is not the cell),
-
pH and bioelectronics,
-
genetics and epigenetics,
-
and a final reflection, inviting participants to discover that the terrain truly is everything.
